KTM appoints Stephan Reiff as chief commercial officer

KTM has named former BMW Motorrad executive Stephan Reiff as its new chief commercial officer, effective April 1, 2026. Reiff will join the company's executive board and oversee sales, marketing, brand strategy, dealer network, and aftersales. The appointment comes amid efforts to rebuild the brand under CEO Gottfried Neumeister.

KTM announced the hiring of Stephan Reiff, who brings more than 25 years of management experience in automobiles and motorcycles. Most recently, Reiff served as vice president of customer, brand, and sales for BMW Motorrad. His previous roles at BMW included vice president of aftersales for North America, product strategy, and sales steering for Europe, among others focused on parts, logistics, and pricing strategies. Reiff expressed enthusiasm on LinkedIn, stating he looks forward to bringing his experience in global sales, premium brand development, electrification strategies, and dealer network excellence to KTM. CEO Gottfried Neumeister praised the hire, saying, “With Stephan Reiff, we are gaining an exceptionally experienced and strategically strong leader. His international expertise, deep industry knowledge, and proven track record in the premium motorcycle segment will significantly strengthen our position. This appointment supports our strategic focus on stability, international competitiveness, and sustainable growth.” The move follows the departure of former CEO Stefan Pierer and reflects parent company Bajaj's push to cut costs, repair KTM's reputation, and refine its product strategy. Neumeister and Bajaj aim to leverage Reiff's skills for recovery.
