Martin Garrix debuts U2 collaboration Fireflies at Tomorrowland

Martin Garrix premiered his new track Fireflies with U2 during his headlining set at Tomorrowland on July 17. The Dutch DJ performed the song with guitarist The Edge at the festival in Boom, Belgium.

Garrix closed the opening day of the event at De Schorre with the main stage headline performance. The Edge joined him onstage for the final song, adding guitar to Bono’s prerecorded vocals in the live debut of the track.

Garrix announced the premiere on Instagram, writing that Fireflies with U2 is out soon. The single is now available for pre-save on Spotify and Apple Music.

The artists have worked together before on We Are the People for UEFA Euro 2020 and Your Song Saved My Life for the Sing 2 soundtrack. Bono has co-written several Garrix songs including Angels for Each Other, Catherina and Weightless.

U2 released Street of Dreams as the lead single from an upcoming studio album due later this year. The project marks the band’s first album of new music since Songs of Experience in 2017.
