Jonah Tong has returned to the major leagues with the New York Mets. The 22-year-old right-hander has made two relief appearances without allowing an earned run.
Following a 4-2 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday, Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said the team plans to keep using Tong. “We're going to need him,” Mendoza said. “We'll continue to get creative.” Tong has pitched 6 2/3 innings in his two outings, allowing three hits and five walks while striking out three batters.
