Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Wednesday on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Evian, France. Modi said India will always be on the side of peace and place humanity above everything else. The leaders discussed trade and industrial projects.
Modi posted on X that in recent times India and Ukraine have been engaging extensively. He said both sides agree that trade ties need to be restored to pre-war levels.
Zelenskyy said the countries have great potential for cooperation and are already implementing joint projects. He added that teams will work through all the details.
The meeting came after Modi held talks with US President Donald Trump and European leaders. Their last direct conversation was on August 30 last year.
