Napalm Death performed a 19-minute set at NPR's Tiny Desk on July 15. The grindcore band played tracks from its early albums including Scum and From Enslavement to Obliteration.
The performance opened with “Instinct of Survival” and closed with “Scum” along with the band's Guinness World Record shortest song “You Suffer.”
Vocalist Barney Greenway wore a Crass T-shirt and addressed the audience in support of public broadcasting. “Let me say, we are here to heartily support public access broadcasting,” he said. “Unfortunately, it is under attack from all sides, in the UK as well as over here, and we have to take care of it. It’s precious. It has to be preserved.”
The set also included material from Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism, Utilitarian, Time Waits for No Slave, and the track “Dead” from From Enslavement to Obliteration. Current members guitarist John Cooke, bassist Matt Sheridan, and drummer Danny Herrera joined Greenway for the show.
The group released a collaborative album with Melvins titled Savage Imperial Death March in 2025.
