Nick Faldo has sharply criticized Bryson DeChambeau's approach to links golf ahead of the 2026 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.
Faldo made the comments during an appearance on the Sky Sports Golf Podcast. He said DeChambeau has "zero clue of strategy" when playing links courses and suggested the player should focus on accuracy rather than distance off the tee.
DeChambeau has missed the cut in the first three majors of 2026. Faldo described the streak as a potential "Rough Slam" and noted the contrast with DeChambeau's stronger results on the LIV Golf tour.
Fellow LIV player Jon Rahm echoed similar advice at a pre-tournament press conference. He warned that relying on the driver over four rounds at the Open can lead to trouble on the fast-running fairways at Royal Birkdale.
