The Office of the Ombudsman has filed criminal charges against USWAG Ilonggo party-list Rep. James Ang Jr. and former Sultan Kudarat representative Arnulfo Go before the Sandiganbayan.
The Sandiganbayan processed and raffled the cases on July 25. Ang faces 14 counts of violating Section 3(h) of the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act due to alleged financial interest in a construction firm that won P214 million in DPWH contracts. The firm received nearly P199 million in payments.
Go and three former Lebak officials face two counts of graft under Section 3(e) of Republic Act 3019 and two counts of malversation. The Ombudsman cited constitutional limits on lawmakers’ business dealings.
Ang has denied the allegations. The Sandiganbayan distributed four cases against Go during the same raffle.
