Philadelphia will stage a large free concert on July 4 to mark America's 250th anniversary. Christina Aguilera, Will Smith, the Roots and other local artists are set to perform on Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
The event, called One Philly: Unity Concert for America, is described as a nonpartisan celebration of unity, diversity and democracy. Organizers include Questlove, Scott Mirkin and Shawn Gee, with the City of Philadelphia and ESM Productions serving as official hosts. Wanda Sykes will emcee the six-hour show, which is intended to become the largest free concert in the country.
