Slay the Spire 2 tops Steam's March sales chart with 5.3 million copies

Building on its strong early access launch, Slay the Spire 2 sold an estimated 5.3 million copies on Steam in March—making it the platform's biggest-selling game of the month—according to Alinea Analytics. The Mega Crit title generated around $108 million in revenue, surpassing releases like Crimson Desert and Resident Evil Requiem. Analyst Rhys Elliott described the performance as 'nuts (but deserved)'.

Alinea Analytics estimates that Slay the Spire 2 shifted 5.3 million units during its early-access debut in March, securing the top spot on Steam's sales chart. This outperformed Crimson Desert's 1.9 million copies and the 1.2 million each for Climber Animals Together and Resident Evil Requiem. Resident Evil 3 Remake followed with 994,000 units, boosted by a 90 percent discount. Resident Evil Requiem alone brought in about $70 million (£53 million), while Climber Animals Together earned under $6 million despite similar volume due to its low price point, Elliott noted.

Mega Crit's Slay the Spire 2 'easily takes Steam's #1 copies sold spot for March,' Elliott wrote on social media. He praised Crimson Desert's community management, saying its word of mouth has spread and it will be 'one of 2026's defining success stories.' The analyst highlighted Capcom's PC strategy, adding that Steam players respond well to deep discounts.

Last week, developers released a beta patch reverting changes to several cards.
