The Smashing Pumpkins welcomed actor Barry Williams, known for playing Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch, to join them onstage for a performance of the sitcom's song "It's a Sunshine Day." The collaboration took place during a Lollapalooza aftershow at Chicago's Riviera Theatre.
Williams appeared with a quartet of background singers for the 1972 bubblegum pop track during the band's career-spanning set focused on Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
The performance followed an 80-minute interview between band leader Billy Corgan and Williams on Corgan's podcast in May. The pair discussed their first meeting and Williams's approach to being recognized as his television character.
The Smashing Pumpkins are scheduled to perform at Lollapalooza itself on Friday. The band also brought out former Hole bassist Melissa Auf der Maur to perform "The Everlasting Gaze" from Machina/The Machines of God.
