The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has awarded the Tesla Cybertruck its highest safety honor. The 2025-2026 crew cab model is the only pickup to receive the Top Safety Pick+ designation under updated standards.

The IIHS released its latest ratings on June 24, 2026. The Cybertruck earned Good ratings in small overlap front, moderate overlap front, and side tests. It also received a Good rating for its front crash prevention system.

The vehicle avoided every collision in pedestrian tests across daytime, nighttime, and multiple angles. Tesla stated that the Cybertruck avoided every single collision and was the only pickup to earn the top award in 2026.

Other models performed lower. The Toyota Tundra received a standard Top Safety Pick rating, while the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500 did not qualify for either award. The recognition applies to vehicles built after April 2025 with structural upgrades.

Mitä ihmiset sanovat

Initial reactions on X praise the Cybertruck's perfect IIHS pedestrian avoidance and sole Top Safety Pick+ award among pickups, with users calling it unmatched engineering and innovation. Some posts add humor or note implications for regulations, while a few express skepticism about translating test results to real impacts despite the strong ratings.
