The abuse began following Saturday's 2-2 Premier League draw against Brighton, where Danso was caught on the ball in the build-up to Georginio Rutter's stoppage-time equaliser for the Seagulls. The result left Spurs in 18th place in the relegation zone under manager Roberto De Zerbi. The club emphasised that such behaviour is a criminal offence and will not be tolerated, especially during the league's 'No Room For Racism' activation weekend. In the statement, Tottenham said: 'We have heard and seen vile, dehumanising racism. Behaviour that is without doubt a criminal offence.' The club is reporting the content to the Metropolitan Police, relevant authorities, and social media platforms, while working with third-party specialists to identify perpetrators. They vowed to push for the strongest possible action, including potential custodial sentences and indefinite stadium bans. Tottenham affirmed full support for Danso, stating: 'Kevin has our complete and unconditional support as a player and as a person. No one at this club will ever stand alone in the face of this.' The club also noted that poor performance on the pitch does not justify discrimination, distinguishing legitimate criticism from racism.
