Travis Bazzana hits first major league home run

Cleveland Guardians rookie Travis Bazzana connected for his first career major league home run on Friday night. The 23-year-old first overall pick from the 2024 draft delivered the blast in the opening inning against the Minnesota Twins.

Bazzana worked a 1-1 count against Twins starter Connor Prielipp before driving a slider 427 feet at 102.3 mph. The ball landed just in front of the visiting bullpen beyond right-center field at Progressive Field in Cleveland. He tossed his bat and sprinted out of the box before circling the bases for the first time in the big leagues.
