Wisconsin man accused of stabbing mother 44 times

A 27-year-old man in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide after allegedly stabbing his mother 44 times. Michael J. Hurlburt called police to report the killing on Friday evening.

Hurlburt told dispatchers he had stabbed his 56-year-old mother, Lisa M. Bragg-Hurlburt, because he believed she had made him crazy and that government and Chinese forces were stalking him. Officers found her body at the Half Moon Lake Apartments with a bloody kitchen knife nearby. A medical examiner confirmed 44 stab wounds, mostly to the neck and upper back.
