During the innings Abhishek became the fastest to 100 T20I sixes among full member teams reaching the mark in 785 balls and surpassing West Indies Evin Lewis who took 789.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer made 68 and Shivam Dube remained unbeaten on 42. Saqib Mahmood took three wickets. Rain prevented England from batting and the match was called off.
It was Shreyas Iyer’s first T20I fifty as captain. The second match of the five-match series is scheduled for July 4 in Manchester.
