Vice President Geraldo Alckmin criticized Argentine President Javier Milei's statements on Tuesday during the PL convention.
Alckmin described Milei's remarks as a crude interference in Brazil's internal affairs. He said the Argentine leader did a disservice to his country by getting involved in another nation's election.
The vice president noted that Brazil is Argentina's largest trading partner and part of Mercosul. Milei had called Lula a convict and minister Alexandre de Moraes a bald piece of trash on Saturday.
Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira summoned the Argentine ambassador on Sunday to convey the Brazilian government's repudiation. Alckmin did not confirm any impact on trade relations.
