Amazon delays Tomb Raider Catalyst to 2028

Amazon has confirmed a delay for Tomb Raider: Catalyst, pushing its release from 2027 to 2028. The announcement came from gaming executive Jeffrey Gattis and means the game will launch without a physical disc version on PlayStation.

Jeffrey Gattis, Amazon’s general manager of gaming, stated on The Game Business Show that the two announced Tomb Raider titles will arrive in sequence. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is now set for February 12, 2027, followed by Tomb Raider: Catalyst in 2028.

The original plan placed Catalyst in 2027 after its reveal at last year’s Game Awards. The shift places it after Sony’s planned end to physical disc production for new PlayStation games in January 2028.

Sony announced earlier this month that all new games releasing on PlayStation consoles will move to digital formats only starting January 2028. Games already scheduled before that date retain disc options, but delayed titles like Catalyst fall outside the window.

Gattis made the comments while discussing Amazon Luna’s broader portfolio, which includes projects at various stages of development.
