Pittsburgh Steelers analysts expressed doubts about the team's ability to repeat as AFC North champions due to an aging roster. CBS Sports analysts Mike Renner and Tyler Sullivan highlighted concerns over veteran players including quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Last season the Steelers won the AFC North division. This offseason the team made changes to its staff and roster. Sullivan said Monday he expects Pittsburgh to finish third in the division. He cited the presence of 42-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers and questioned the player's commitment. Renner described the team as too old overall. He noted the roster only got older and said the Steelers are getting passed up in the division. Several defensive standouts such as Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt and Jalen Ramsey are over 30. The team has younger talent including recently extended pass rusher Nick Herbig along with Joey Porter Jr. and Keeanu Benton.
