Skellefteå AIK assistant coach Andreas Falk has firmly denied rumors of a move to HV71. He confirmed he has three years left on his contract and plans to remain in place. The announcement follows speculation linking him to the vacant head coaching role at HV71.
Andreas Falk, assistant coach for Skellefteå AIK, addressed swirling rumors about replacing Anton Blomqvist as HV71's head coach. Falk, who previously played as a valued center for HV71 during his active career, stated the speculation was unfounded. Reports had even suggested meetings with HV71's leadership during the playoffs, but Falk rejected these claims outright after Skellefteå's SM-guldet victory. He told Expressen, “Jag har varit ryktenas man har jag hört. Men det är bara rykten.” When asked directly about interest from HV71, he replied, “Nej, det är ingenting som stämmer. Jag har tre år här och kommer att stanna kvar.” Falk emphasized there is no early exit clause in his contract. He will continue assisting head coach Daniel Hermansson alongside Pierre Johnsson next season. This decision removes Falk from HV71's list of candidates as they search for Blomqvist's successor.
