Military Forces and the National Police seized a shipment of war material in the municipality of Yumbo, Valle del Cauca.
The operation took place at the National Cargo Center in Yumbo as part of Plan Democracia. Troops from Rapid Deployment Battalion No. 15 located the material after intelligence work in the departments of Valle del Cauca and Cauca.
Authorities reported the seizure of 20 rifles, 100 magazines, two thousand rounds of ammunition, 80 antipersonnel mines and six drones. The shipment was headed for the Armando Ríos structure of the FARC dissidents operating in San José del Guaviare.
General Hugo Alejandro López Barreto, commander general of the Military Forces, stated that the result represents a significant impact on illegal armed structures. The material is believed to have been sent by alias Marlon, a dissident leader recently killed in Buenaventura, and originated from the Naya region.
