FC Barcelona defeated Celta de Vigo 1-0 in LaLiga with a penalty scored by Lamine Yamal, who suffered a hamstring injury in his left leg right after. Joao Cancelo also left injured with a knee issue. The Blaugrana hold a nine-point lead over Real Madrid with six games remaining.
FC Barcelona beat RC Celta de Vigo 1-0 at Spotify Camp Nou in a match overshadowed by injuries and a medical interruption. Lamine Yamal won and converted a penalty against Yoel Lago in the 38th minute, his 16th LaLiga goal and 24th of the season, but cramped his left hamstring on impact and requested a substitution, replaced by Roony Bardghji.
The game halted for nearly 20 minutes due to a fan's cardiorespiratory arrest in the stands. Earlier, Joao Cancelo was subbed off by Alejandro Balde for a right knee issue. Eric García received a yellow card and will miss the next game against Getafe due to accumulation.
Hansi Flick said: «We have to see tomorrow what happens, we don't have a clear diagnosis. We have to accept it, it's a shame for us, I hope the injury is not too serious». Pedri added: «Hopefully it's as little as possible, tests tomorrow and we'll see».
In the second half, Ferran Torres had a goal disallowed by a razor-thin offside. Barça controlled play but managed the lead against a resilient Celta, preserving their nine-point edge over Madrid ahead of the May 10 Clásico.
