Burna Boy released a behind-the-scenes video diary documenting his day leading up to and following his performance at the inaugural FIFA World Cup Final halftime show.
The genre-blending artist performed on Sunday at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. In the diary produced for Billboard, he detailed a police escort, final rehearsals and interactions with collaborators including Shakira.
Burna Boy and Shakira performed their official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem “Dai Dai,” which holds the top spot on the Billboard Global 200 for a second week. The video also shows meetings with streamer iShowSpeed, a hug with Justin Bieber and a greeting from Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis.
After the set, Burna Boy received praise from Chris Martin backstage. Martin curated the halftime show that closed with Coldplay’s “We Dance.”
