The Washington Capitals have acquired forward Jordan Kyrou from the St. Louis Blues. The deal sends forwards Connor McMichael and Milton Gästrin along with the 16th overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft to St. Louis.
The trade was first reported in Canadian media and then confirmed officially by both clubs. Kyrou, 28, recorded 46 points in 72 games last season and has tallied 378 points over 488 NHL games.
Milton Gästrin, who had been training with Brynäs during the preseason, previously held a contract with Washington. The move comes days before the NHL Draft and the opening of free agency on July 1.
St. Louis had sought adequate return for Kyrou for some time, with Alexander Steen holding a leading role in club decisions.
