Christopher Nolan's film opens July 16 in Mexico with IMAX screenings at Cinépolis and Cinemex theaters. It is the first movie shot entirely with IMAX cameras.
La Odisea opens in Mexican theaters on July 16. IMAX screenings will be available at twelve Cinépolis complexes and six Cinemex locations in Mexico City, Estado de México, Puebla, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Quintana Roo and Veracruz.
Tickets at Cinemex cost 130 pesos for general screenings and 300 pesos in Platino halls. Cinépolis charges 160 pesos per IMAX ticket, reduced to 115 pesos for Club Cinépolis members. An online service fee applies.
Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway recommended watching the film in IMAX to appreciate its image and detail. Filming lasted six months across six countries using real locations and ships built for the production.
The cast features Matt Damon as Odysseus alongside Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Charlize Theron, Lupita Nyong'o and Robert Pattinson.
