Coachella headliners surge on Billboard 200 after festival weekend

The headliners of Coachella 2026's first weekend—Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Karol G—saw significant gains on the Billboard 200 chart dated April 25. Bieber achieved a career high with seven albums on the chart simultaneously. The boosts followed their performances from April 10 to 12, according to data from Luminate.

Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber and Karol G headlined the evenings of April 10, 11 and 12, respectively, at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Their sets were livestreamed on YouTube, contributing to sharp increases in album consumption tracked for the week ending April 16. All three artists repeated their performances the following weekend on April 17, 18 and 19, with those gains set to appear on the next Billboard 200 chart dated May 1, as reported by Billboard and compiled by Luminate. The chart measures equivalent album units from sales, track equivalents and streams in the United States. Bieber led the surge with seven albums charting at once—a personal record, surpassing his previous high of four in January 2012. His latest release, SWAG, climbed from No. 55 to No. 7 with 43,000 units, up 160%, driven by 41.48 million on-demand streams. Five other albums re-entered: Purpose at No. 32 (22,000 units, up 173%), Believe at No. 34 (21,000, up 241%), My World 2.0 at No. 38 (20,000, up 268%), Justice at No. 110 (13,000, up 100%) and My World at No. 147 (12,000, up 563%). Debuting at No. 111 was Bieber's 2013 album Journals with nearly 13,000 units, up 192%; it was originally an iTunes exclusive whose sales were not reported to chart compilers at the time. Carpenter's Man's Best Friend rose from No. 18 to No. 10 with 40,000 units, up 44%, fueled by 34.39 million streams. Her prior album Short n’ Sweet jumped from No. 24 to No. 17 with nearly 31,000 units, up 23%. Karol G's Tropicoqueta re-entered at No. 116 with nearly 13,000 units, up 51%.
