Indonesia's U-17 team dominated from the start in their opening AFF U-17 Cup 2026 match against Timor Leste at Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium in Gresik. In the 5th minute, Putu Pratama opened the scoring with a left-footed shot. Twelve minutes later, Putu netted his second from a volley off a rebound of Dava Yunna's shot.
In the 32nd minute, Dava Putra's header hit the crossbar. Five minutes later, Ridho made it 3-0 with a powerful shot from the penalty area. At the 42nd minute, Dava Yunna capped the first half with a spectacular salto goal from a header pass, sealing the 4-0 lead at halftime.
Post-match, coach Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto praised Dava's individual skill. "Dava is one of the players with great individual ability and it's very proud," he said in the press conference. He called the goal a "gift for Surabaya," Dava's home from Elite Pro Academy Persebaya Surabaya.
Dava said the salto goal was spontaneous after teammates' pre-match joke. "Yes, before heading out, teammates said score a salto goal, and it happened," he recounted. He advised young players, "To friends, stay spirited, don't give up, and keep working hard."
