More than a decade after her death, the soap opera Days of Our Lives has resurrected the character Lexie Carver on its March 6 episode. The role is now played by actress Nikki Crawford, who succeeds Renee Jones. The revival involves Dr. Wilhelm Rolf and E.J. DiMera revealing the character to Mayor Paulina Price.
Days of Our Lives, the long-running Peacock soap opera, featured the return of Lexie Carver in its episode aired on March 6, 2026. Lexie, originally introduced in 1987 and portrayed by multiple actresses, was most famously played by Renee Jones from 1993 to 2012. Jones' retirement led producers to kill off the character in June 2012, depicting her death from a brain tumor.
The resurrection was orchestrated by mad scientist Dr. Wilhelm Rolf, played by William Utay, under the guidance of E.J. DiMera, portrayed by Dan Feuerriegel. In the episode, E.J. informs Mayor Paulina Price, played by Jackée Harry—who is married to Lexie's widower, Abe Carver (James Reynolds)—about the revival. Despite Rolf's warnings, E.J. unlocks Lexie's pod, leaving Paulina in horror as the character appears alive.
Nikki Crawford, whose credits include A Different World, Living Single, Pretty Little Liars, and 9-1-1, takes on the role. In a video shared on the show's Instagram, Crawford stated: "I am so excited to be joining 'Days of Our Lives' as the new Lexie Carver. She's back, and let's just say she has a lot to say. I can't wait for you to see what's coming."
Lexie is Abe's late wife and mother to Theo Carver (Cameron Johnson). The storyline hints at potential complications for Paulina's marriage to Abe, given Lexie's history as his soulmate. E.J., who helped Lexie with her bucket list before her death and feels guilt over DiMera-related toxins contributing to her illness, drives the plot. New episodes stream weekdays on Peacock.
