On November 10, 2025, a powerful explosion rocked a white Hyundai i20 car near Gate Number 1 of Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station at 6:52 PM, killing at least nine people. Forensic analysis confirmed a 100% DNA match between remains from the car's debris and samples from Umar Nabi's family, establishing that the Pulwama resident doctor detonated himself and the vehicle. Umar had purchased the car 11 days earlier using a friend's ID under the name Tariq.
CCTV footage traced the car's route: starting at 7:30 AM outside Al-Falah University in Faridabad, entering Delhi via Badarpur Border, passing Okhla, Mayur Vihar, and Connaught Place, before parking for three hours at Chandni Chowk's Sunheri Masjid. Before the blast, Umar spent 15 minutes at Faiz-e-Ilahi Masjid. Delhi Police is reviewing footage from 350 cameras.
The incident links to the Faridabad 'white collar terror module,' where 358 kilograms of ammonium nitrate was seized. Ammonium nitrate, likely 60-70 kg in the car, is the suspected primary explosive. Umar communicated with Ankara-based handler 'UKasa' via the Session app, with suspicions of brainwashing in March 2022. The NIA has uncovered Jaish-e-Mohammed connections.
Arrests include two clerics: Irfan Ahmad Wagay from Shopian for indoctrination and Maulana Ishtiyaq from Faridabad for renting premises to store explosives. Two students from Al-Falah Medical College were detained. On November 13, hoax bomb threats targeted IGIA and four other airports. The Cabinet Committee on Security declared it a terrorist attack.
