Dennis Hall has been appointed head coach of Luleå ahead of the upcoming SHL season. He succeeds Thomas Berglund, who held the role since 2017/18. Hall brings experience from lower divisions and international stints.
Hall rose through the ranks via Hockeyettan and HockeyAllsvenskan. His most recent success came at BIK Karlskoga, where he guided the team to at least the semifinals each of his three seasons and reached the league final. He described a positive first impression of Luleå and its organization after meeting club officials. Hall noted the club’s strong structure and larger scale compared with his previous roles. Hall plans to build on Berglund’s foundation of hard work and defensive structure. He said he spoke with Berglund and club staff to understand existing practices before adding his own ideas. The coach emphasized careful development of young players. He warned against giving them too much responsibility too soon, stating it could risk breaking a player rather than gradually integrating them.
