The project is expected to become a tourism and culinary destination due to its beautiful beach and potential. Fahri Hamzah affirmed the government's commitment to supporting the initiative.
Indonesia's Deputy Minister for Housing and Settlements Fahri Hamzah and House Commission IV member Rohkmin Dahuri conducted an on-site inspection of the Red White Fisherman Village in Mata Ie Village, Aceh Jaya Regency, on April 25, 2026. The visit highlights the government's seriousness in developing the area.
Fahri Hamzah described the site as having a beautiful beach and a luxurious feel, with great potential as a tourist spot. "We can combine it all, meaning a village, tourist city, and fisherman area also a culinary city," he said. He noted involvement from multiple ministries, including the Public Works Ministry for road access.
The development plan includes about 1,200 housing units on 9.9 hectares of land with a budget exceeding Rp49 billion. The President has designed the program, and Mata Ie Village is expected to be among the fastest due to available land. Rohkmin Dahuri called Rp18 billion a small amount in housing development context.
Aceh Jaya Regent Safwandi thanked Fahri Hamzah for the visit and hopes the project materializes as a big dream for local fishermen. Fahri committed, "We at the center, Insya Allah ready to help. In the executive, we are ready to help, in the legislature ready to help."
