The New Jersey Devils have acquired defenseman Étienne Morin along with draft picks from the Calgary Flames. The deal sends defenseman Šimon Nemec and forward Maxim Tsyplakov to Calgary.
The transaction includes two conditional first-round picks and a 2026 second-round pick heading to New Jersey. Morin, who is 21 years old, appeared in 42 games for the AHL's Calgary Wranglers during the 2025-26 season.
In those contests he recorded one goal and six assists. Morin was originally selected by the Flames in the second round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
A native of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Quebec, Morin won a QMJHL title while playing junior hockey with Moncton in 2024-25.
