Disney greenlights third Phineas and Ferb movie

Disney Branded Television has approved a third movie in the Phineas and Ferb franchise, featuring a time-warp adventure that threatens the brothers' existence. Co-creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff Swampy Marsh are expanding the story with writers Kate Kondell and Jeff Howard. Production begins later this year for release on Disney+ and Disney Channel.

Disney Branded Television announced on January 15, 2026, that it has greenlit a third Phineas and Ferb movie, continuing the animated franchise's success. The film, a time-warp-themed adventure, centers on Dr. Doofenshmirtz's experiment backfiring and erasing the moment Phineas' mom meets Ferb's dad, meaning the boys never become brothers. The logline states: “Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s latest time‑travel experiment backfires, erasing the moment Phineas’ mom meets Ferb’s dad — meaning the boys never become brothers and every day is merely adequate. As reality unravels and the future hangs in the balance, Phineas and Ferb must restore the timeline before it’s too late.”

Returning voice actors include Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn, David Errigo Jr. as Ferb Fletcher, Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn, Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro, Maulik Pancholy as Baljeet, Bobby Gaylor as Buford, Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus, Dan Povenmire as Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, and Jeff Swampy Marsh as Major Francis Monogram.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, said: “‘Phineas and Ferb’ is built on imagination, heart and humor, where the unexpected is always part of the fun. This movie gives Dan and Swampy the chance to stretch that world even further and play with what happens when everything gets turned on its head.” Povenmire and Marsh added in a joint statement: “We’ve always wanted to explore a story centered on family and unconditional love, preferably in a way that’s bold and sentimental yet classically funny. We’re grateful to Ayo and her team for giving us the runway to expand Danville and take these characters to a whole new level.”

The project is directed by Bob Bowen, with producers including Brandi Young. It follows previous films: the 2011 TV movie Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension, which ranked among TV's top movies that year, and the 2020 Disney+ release Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe.

This news coincides with new Phineas and Ferb content, including the eight-short series Agent P Under C debuting January 16 on Disney+, and new episodes on January 17 featuring guests like Meghan Trainor in Vendpocalypse The Musical. The franchise, which won five Emmys, has amassed 12.8 billion hours watched and remains Disney's most successful animated series for kids 6-11 and tweens 9-14.
