Egypt delivers 780 tonnes of food aid to Gaza ahead of Ramadan

A humanitarian convoy carrying 780 tonnes of food and essential supplies entered the Gaza Strip to aid displaced families before Ramadan, announced the Tahya Misr Fund and the House of Zakat and Charities. The 52-truck shipment was sent following directives from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to bolster relief for Palestinians.

The Tahya Misr Fund and the House of Zakat and Charities announced that a humanitarian convoy with 780 tonnes of food and essential living supplies has entered the Gaza Strip to assist displaced families in the lead-up to Ramadan. Comprising 52 trucks, the shipment was dispatched under instructions from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to increase relief efforts for Palestinians, aiming to ease their hardships amid ongoing conditions and meet basic needs during the holy month.

Tamer Abdel Fattah, Executive Director of the Tahya Misr Fund, explained that the delivery's timing stems from continuous coordination to reach beneficiaries before Ramadan begins. He described the convoys as fulfilling "a humanitarian duty that embodies our firm position in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people," highlighting Egypt's longstanding commitment to the Palestinian cause. Abdel Fattah noted that the fund is collaborating "around the clock" with authorities to smooth truck movements and plans to maintain relief operations under the banner "We Share for Humanity" to provide ongoing aid to displaced families throughout the month.

Sheikh Abdel Alim Qashta, the official spokesperson for the House of Zakat and Charities, called the convoy's entry a "message of true solidarity from the Egyptian people." He stated, "We in the House of Zakat and Charities consider aiding the distressed and relieving the afflicted to be a Sharia and humanitarian duty." Qashta pledged continued support to mitigate the crisis's effects until the "sun of freedom rises for our people in Palestine."

The organizations emphasized that this joint initiative exemplifies coordinated humanitarian work among Egyptian state bodies. They vowed to intensify relief activities and offer assistance until the crisis ends and Palestinians attain security and stability.
