Egypt’s Minister of State for Military Production met with a delegation from South Korea’s BongSan company to explore joint work in the defense sector.
Salah Gombalat received the BongSan representatives on 21 June 2026. The talks focused on exchanging technical expertise and integrating into supply chains using local Egyptian materials.
Gombalat highlighted an ongoing strategy aligned with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi’s directives to deepen local manufacturing and adopt advanced technologies. He noted existing cooperation between Egyptian military production firms and South Korean partners in several industrial fields.
BongSan officials praised the capabilities of Egypt’s military production companies and expressed interest in expanded partnership. Both sides reviewed opportunities to reduce import costs through local supply networks.
