Egypt opens new export markets for oranges grapes and strawberry seedlings

Egypt has opened new agricultural export markets in Peru Panama and Mexico for oranges grapes and strawberry seedlings Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk announced on Monday.

The announcement follows technical negotiations led by the Central Administration of Plant Quarantine with plant quarantine authorities in the three countries.

Peru has approved imports of Egyptian oranges while Panama has opened its market to grapes and strawberry seedlings. Mexico has authorised imports of strawberry seedlings.

The ministry is now finalising executive procedures to begin shipments after receiving official technical requirements from the importing countries. Circulars are being prepared to communicate the rules to Egyptian exporters.
