The Ethiopian Athletics Federation has begun its 29th annual general assembly in Addis Ababa on Miyazya 12, 2018 E.C.

At the opening, Minister of Culture and Sports Deta Mekiu Mohammed commended the federation's new leadership for carrying out numerous activities within one year. She highlighted the federation's collaboration with the government to secure competition budgets and financial support aimed at bolstering the athletics sector.

The two-day assembly will deliberate on the minutes from the 28th regular general assembly, the 2017 budget year performance report, external audit report, 2018 work plan and budget, institutional reform document, and human resources mapping study.

Discussions will also cover approval of the updated federation statute, five-year strategic plan, and new directives on governance, finance, and property administration.
