FBI plans enhanced Nairobi office as DCI partnership enters new phase

The FBI and Kenya's Directorate of Criminal Investigations have agreed to expand their collaboration, including plans to reinforce the FBI's Legal Attaché Office in Nairobi.

The development was confirmed during a visit on May 9 by FBI Co-Deputy Director Andrew Bailey to the DCI Headquarters at Mazingira Complex in Nairobi. Both agencies reaffirmed their long-standing strategic partnership.

A key outcome includes the appointment of a Regional Transnational Anti-Corruption Programme Manager to boost technical support and specialised training. DCI Director Mohamed Amin highlighted past successes in joint investigations on terrorism, cybercrime and other crimes.

The agencies also agreed to deepen cooperation in digital forensics, artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency tracking. Bailey praised Kenya's anti-corruption efforts for their role in boosting investor confidence.
