Playground Games has addressed an exploit in Forza Horizon 6 that allowed players to gain millions of credits using a Hummer in the Eliminator mode. The studio removed the mode and rolled back the ill-gotten funds without issuing bans. All players will receive a free car as compensation.
Some players discovered a glitch last week that let them earn over 20 million credits quickly by using a specific Hummer setup in the Eliminator mode and exiting early. The method spread rapidly among users seeking to reach the 999 million credit cap.
On June 13 the studio temporarily removed the Eliminator mode. Two days later Playground Games published an FAQ confirming it would delete the stolen credits. Accounts involved were restored to a maximum of 10 million credits.
The Forza team stated that no bans would be issued because the error originated on their side. They added that the mode will return after a future hotfix that addresses the exploit.
To compensate for the mode's absence all players will receive a 2021 McLaren Sabre once the patch is applied.
