Argentine driver Franco Colapinto finished sixth in the Canadian Grand Prix and scored eight points for Alpine. The result marks his best position in the category since debuting in 2024.
Colapinto started from tenth position at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal. He gained places during the race and finished ahead of teammate Pierre Gasly, who placed eighth.
His engineer Stuart Barlow congratulated him over the radio at the end: “Chequered flag, mate. Let’s go! Sixth position! You did a fantastic job this weekend. Really, great driving”.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli won the race for the fourth consecutive time. The podium was completed by Lewis Hamilton in second and Max Verstappen in third.
The Alpine team linked the Argentine’s performance to his exhibition in Buenos Aires at the end of April. Flavio Briatore celebrated the result on social media.
