Anton Frondell made his world championship debut for Sweden on Wednesday and recorded two assists in a dominant 6-0 victory over Slovenia. The 19-year-old forward had waited through the first three group games before getting his chance.
Frondell stepped into the lineup after Sweden learned that Anaheim forward Leo Carlsson would not join the team. He played 14 minutes and six seconds, fired four shots and set up goals by Robert Hägg and Mattias Ekholm in the second period. Sweden opened the scoring through Lucas Raymond early in the first period and added two more before the break, including a goal by birthday boy Jacob de la Rose.
