Government announces 2026/27 Plano Safra with R$ 622.4 bi in credit

The federal government launched the 2026/27 Plano Safra on Tuesday (30), allocating R$ 525.1 billion to commercial agriculture and R$ 97.3 billion to family farming.

The package for commercial agriculture totaled R$ 525.1 billion, above the R$ 516.2 billion from the previous plan. Funding for production costs and commercialization fell to R$ 384.9 billion, while investments rose to R$ 140.2 billion.

Interest rates were cut in several strategic lines, such as commercial production costs from 14% to 12.5% per year. Equalized controlled-rate resources dropped from R$ 49.5 billion to R$ 34.7 billion.

For family farming, Pronaf received R$ 85.2 billion, up from R$ 78.2 billion last year. Credit limits were expanded and specific lines created for rural women, with rates reduced to 2% per year on Pronaf Investimento.

The Parliamentary Front for Agriculture criticized the drop in production credit and President Lula's absence from the commercial event. Vice President Geraldo Alckmin attended the ceremony.
