Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release in November, with pre-orders opening this week on 25 June. Analysts are debating the likely price of the game amid high anticipation.
Rockstar Games announced the pre-order date with a short video that revealed the cover art and has since gained 10 million views on YouTube.
Industry experts offered views on possible pricing. Circana analyst Mat Piscatella said higher prices are possible and plausible. The Game Business' Chris Dring noted that GTA 6 is not like most games and could justify elevated costs.
Rhys Elliott of Alinea Analytics predicted the base edition would land at £70-£80 in the UK. Ampere Analysis' Piers Harding-Rolls highlighted the potential for mid-tier editions to exceed $100 while GTA Online serves as the main revenue driver.
The game follows GTA 5, which has sold 225 million copies worldwide. Analysts expect record pre-orders and one of the largest entertainment launches ever.
