Hammarby IF drew 1–1 with Halmstads BK in the Allsvenskan at 3 arena. Winger Montader Madjed was benched despite a recent goal and voiced disappointment afterwards. Striker Paulos Abraham limped off with overstrain ahead of the derby against Djurgården.
Hammarby came off an 8–1 win against Örgryte but failed to beat Halmstad at 3 arena. The match ended 1–1 after Otso Liimatta gave Halmstad the lead in the 10th minute on a rebound from Warner Hahn following a shot by Ludvig Arvidsson. Frank Junior Adjei equalized for Hammarby with a dream strike from distance after nearly 50 minutes.
Montader Madjed, who scored in the 8–1 thrashing of Örgryte, started on the bench in favor of new signing Oliver Jordan Hagen. "It kills a bit", says the 20-year-old afterwards, describing his form: "Up and down. Bad at the start, but I have a good match against Öis, then I sit on the bench." Coach Kalle Karlsson explained the decision due to a tight schedule. Madjed was substituted in the 56th minute.
Paulos Abraham limped off late due to overstrain. "I have felt a little overstrain. It came more and more during the match", he says. He admits: "I am not in good physical flow." The next match is the derby against Djurgården on Sunday at 14.00, where Abraham hopes to be fit. Hammarby's coach Kalle Karlsson noted: "We were not really sharp."
