HSBC First Approved for Bank of England Digital Securities Sandbox

HSBC has become the first company approved by the Bank of England to launch a digital assets platform in the UK’s Digital Securities Sandbox.

The approval allows HSBC Orion to go live in the sandbox, which supports tokenized bond issuance and settlement.

HSBC said it was the first applicant approved by the Bank of England for the initiative.

The move marks an early step in testing digital asset infrastructure under regulatory oversight in the United Kingdom.
