Huila recognizes projects driving school transformation

In Gigante, Huila, the Departmental Meeting of Significant Pedagogical Experiences took place, evaluating 166 educational projects and selecting 12 for their innovation in communicative competencies. The Departmental Education Secretariat led the event in alliance with LA NACIÓN newspaper, highlighting the impact on students from ten municipalities.

The Departmental Meeting of Significant Pedagogical Experiences was held at the Ismael Perdomo Borrero Educational Institution in Gigante, Huila, bringing together urban and rural educational institutions from ten municipalities. Led by the Departmental Education Secretariat under Edgar Martín Lara's direction, the event aimed to share innovative practices in communicative competencies, conflict resolution, collaborative learning, and pedagogical innovation.

Out of 166 submitted experiences, only 12 were selected after rigorous evaluation by specialists, considering their impact, innovation, and contribution to strengthening skills in Huila's children and youth. Each winning project received a 3 million peso economic incentive for continuity.

Martha Lucía Cruz, Education Secretariat delegate, emphasized teacher commitment: “From the Education Secretariat, we have evaluated, supported, and strengthened all these processes for the students' well-being. Thank you for the dedication and effort teachers always put into doing things right. The fruit of that effort is materialized in these experiences”.

Eliana Marcela Pérez, evaluator and pedagogy specialist, highlighted the initiatives' value: “This is a very emotional moment for us. From the accompaniment, advice, and interaction with students and teachers, we witnessed wonderful work in rural and urban schools. There were 166 experiences, each innovative and unforgettable”.

The winning experiences covered topics like cultural identity, environmental conservation, and human rights, including projects such as “Aprendo con la música colombiana” in La Plata and “Cada gota cuenta” in Gigante. The alliance with LA NACIÓN promoted good practices in reading and communication, reaffirming education's role in regional development.

The event concluded with a call to continue innovating, projecting a sustainable educational future in Huila.
