São Paulo Civil Police indicted three instructors for qualified homicide with eventual intent in the death of Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, 21, who was thrown without ropes from the Esqueleto Bridge on June 13.
The inquiry finalized on Monday (22) by delegate Andréa Dantas Levy states that the absence of proper safety equipment fixation was the determining factor. Those indicted are Luis Felipe Feliciano Egoroff, 32, Maicon Fernandes Cintra, 42, and Vitor de Freitas Gonçalves, 27, who remain in preventive detention at the Guarulhos CDP.
The defenses contest the indictment. Lawyers for Maicon and Luis say the case should be treated as manslaughter, while Vitor's lawyers state there was no individualization of conducts and that the inquiry does not show his responsibility for installing the equipment.
The procedure will now be analyzed by the Public Ministry. A new inquiry was opened to investigate five other people, with three of them arrested temporarily on June 20.
