Juso leader Türmer sees SPD leadership change as an option

Amid weak SPD poll numbers, Juso chief Philipp Türmer has criticized party leaders Lars Klingbeil and Bärbel Bas and left open the possibility of leadership changes.

Türmer told „Zeit“ that the party’s approval level is absolutely unacceptable. New approaches and changes are needed. The leaders have a special responsibility to lead with ideas.

He does not yet see that Klingbeil and Bas have managed to turn things around. A personnel change is therefore an option. Türmer outlined scenarios, including the leadership itself recognizing the need for a different role distribution.
