Developer Ember Lab has announced that its award-winning action-adventure game, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 this spring. The feature-complete port includes the Anniversary DLC and New Game+ mode. This marks the game's arrival on Nintendo hardware, following prior platform expansions and coinciding with the reveal of its sequel, Kena: Scars of Kosmora.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Ember Lab's debut title released in September 2021 on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, later arrived on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One in August 2024. The Nintendo Switch 2 version, coming this spring with no specific date announced, will be fully featured and accessible soon after the console's launch.

The edition bundles the 2022 Anniversary DLC, adding Charmstones for customization, Spirit Guide Trials for combat challenges, new outfits for protagonist Kena, and accessibility improvements. It also features New Game+ mode, letting players replay the story with retained abilities, upgrades, outfits, and Rot companions amid redesigned, tougher encounters.

Ember Lab executive Josh Grier said: "We're incredibly excited to bring Kena's journey to a whole new audience, giving players the chance to experience her story at home or on the go with Nintendo Switch 2. As our studio's debut title, the overwhelming support and love the game has received over the years has truly meant a great deal to our team. We're beyond thrilled that even more players will now be able to fully immerse themselves in Kena's world and become part of her journey."

In the game, players guide Kena, a Spirit Guide seeking a sacred Mountain Shrine in a forgotten village. She frees spirits using Rot companions, essential for story, exploration, puzzles, and combat. Despite a limited budget as a debut, it impressed with polished visuals, charming characters, and deep combat, though Eurogamer called it a "gorgeous yet unoriginal adventure" amid first-game execution issues. Expansions reflect lessons learned, building toward the sequel on a larger budget.

The announcement aligns with Kena: Scars of Kosmora, revealed in February for PlayStation 5 and PC later this year, where Kena explores Kosmora's tragic secrets. No Switch 2 version for the sequel has been confirmed.

Reactions on X to Kena: Bridge of Spirits launching on Nintendo Switch 2 this spring are largely positive, with gamers praising the game's quality, comparing it to Zelda-like adventures, and welcoming its portable play. Users express intent to purchase the feature-complete edition and hope for the sequel's multi-platform release. Minor skepticism focuses on potential performance and confusion with the sequel announcement.
