Lucknow Super Giants revealed a revamped logo on February 24, 2026, featuring symbols of Garuda, a crown, and an elephant, while shifting to a bold red color scheme. The franchise described the design as a tribute to the spirit of Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh. Owner Shashwat Goenka called it an emotional promise to fans and the region.
On February 24, 2026, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, unveiled a new logo ahead of the 2026 season. The design incorporates three key symbols: Garuda, representing courage and the drive to rise above challenges; the Crown, symbolizing pride and responsibility; and the Elephant, embodying strength, wisdom, patience, and unity. This marks a shift from the team's previous blue motif to a bold red identity, which bears resemblance to the logo of Manchester Super Giants, a team rebranded by the Sanjiv Goenka Group after acquiring a 70 percent stake. That logo, unveiled on January 26, featured an elephant head with a crown in red, white, and gold.
In an official statement, LSG emphasized the logo's significance: "Today, Lucknow Super Giants unveil a new logo. Not just a new design. Not just a new look. But a symbol that carries the spirit of this city, this state, and every fan who has stood by the team from the very beginning. This new emblem brings together three powerful symbols, Garuda, the Crown, and the Elephant, each telling a story that feels deeply personal to Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh."
Shashwat Goenka, owner of LSG and vice chairman of RPSG Group, shared his perspective: "This new logo is deeply emotional for us. The people of Lucknow and Uttar Pradesh welcomed the Super Giants into their hearts from day one. This symbol is a tribute to that love and belief. Garuda reflects our dreams to rise higher. The Crown reflects the pride you place on us every time we take the field. And the Elephant reflects the strength and loyalty that defines this region. This is not just a change in identity. It is a promise. A promise that we will honour this city, respect our roots, and compete with heart. Every run, every wicket, every moment will carry the emotion of our fans."
LSG, captained by Rishabh Pant, finished seventh in the previous IPL season with six wins, eight losses, and 12 points. The team has assembled a squad including Nicholas Pooran, Mohammed Shami, Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and others like Wanindu Hasaranga and Anrich Nortje, aiming for their first IPL title since debuting in 2022.
While the franchise highlighted the logo's cultural ties, some fans reacted with memes on social media, critiquing its design and comparing it to other IPL teams' logos, though no widespread backlash was reported beyond online trolling.
