Mariela Scafati presents her first institutional exhibition in Spain

Argentine artist Mariela Scafati opens her exhibition 'Nombrar el mundo' at Madrid's Conde Duque space, on view until July 19.

The exhibition, titled 'Nombrar el mundo', marks Scafati's first institutional show in Spain. The Argentine artist, known for her work in screen printing, painting and activism, presents new pieces that expand the limits of the traditional canvas.

Works such as body-canvases named Dai, Devo, Estela, Guille, Lola, Magai, Manu and Nico occupy the space. These pieces incorporate clothing items and explore themes of family, desire and queer community.

Scafati also includes references to her radio project 'Radio Eléctrica Artesanal', broadcast in Buenos Aires between 2010 and 2012. The show invites visitors to reflect on power, change and ways of naming the world from collective perspectives.
